[ Review / Classics ] Yugi Oh Duel Monsters Genex : Victims of the Fall

Classic #0003
Original Time : 2017/April 18 ( 9:16PM )
Took me long time to touch the blog. Alot have happened in the family, and writing a review for every series I've finished was kept unlocked on my notebook. I will be posting entries at a time to fill the void I've missed. Thanks for your patronage!
---
So ending the entries for February placed for the series, Yugi Oh Genex.

Remarkably, one of my childhood (and probably my generation) was guided with Yugi Muto's Yugi Oh. The influence then, passed on during my highschool for the series Yugi Oh Genex. During those afternoons, the series became my past time after harbouring loadworks from school. The Tagalog Dub (aired on Hero TV) became the familiarity and rewatching it in Japanese version enveloped an increasing doubt.

The decency of Tagalog Dub paves way the fun times. The cut scenes the HeroTV production make a new perspective than the Japanese, as I have thought. Unlike my previous review of Prince of Tennis almost of it's episodes weren't hard to recall , Genex ,however, compiles numerous blurry figures I have to fill and enough to justify my judgement before that it has a good story.

And I was right.

Tagalog dub brought about the story wants to convey. To my growing concerns such as the edited scenes , it wasn't really the heavied case rather how the seiyuu portrays the character. I felt I was saved during those days from " Ano ne. " , " De aru." and "Nya~" chara-catch phrase although into Tagalog Dub characters were made an accent instead. This is the reason I caught myself to a comedy show. Also, it felt idiotic for the dub alone to place a proper distance! Haha. Recalling my side comments years before created another fold of buffoonery. It made my heart flutter, in every pace the scenes bawled a slow-mo feeling (thinking about it now). Those sidecomments reflected my proper age at that time.

Defining how the first part was introduced , I could say less from a painting with contrasts. The backstory of categorizing and building card decks was colorful. Yet the supporting characters vibed bootless, making Judai Yuki's prowess inconvincible (or atleast being defeated by "the Kaiser" doesnt help much). The suprising element those supporting characters such as to demand a drama fedbacks the series positively.

The emotions I had while watching were pacified within three parts. It mainly surrounds sense of oppression that grew to something larger, then shrouded with misery, sadness against own competence.

---
The First Arc : ( The Alchemist and the army )

Few scenes hinted mystery. The issue of missing students and science through the conspiracy treaded to alight. The rapid impact of battling in use of spirit keys to open the gates for three most powerful and destructive cards gives an amount pressure for the resolve. Among those battles, were welcomed by Judai Yuki. For every save button he responded, depicted that the supporting characters left incompetent. Though among, the rivalry against the one (originaly) defending the key to the belligerent termed to be appealing. What lacking in was the proper grooming to the story between the two. The ideology or to gently touched the backstory could be proper. First Opening and Ending used are never to skip of, it gave a lively and entertaining value to bridge the episodes.

After the settled battle opened the curtains for fanservices. It wasn't moe as the industry now. Ha-ha! Fanservices sometimes were relaxing, some succeeding episodes became draggy to introduce me to the next phase.
---

The Second Arc : ( Battle of Heroes )

The second tiptoed the similarities of the deck cards between two persona showered in different environment. Setting it this way, brighten the reality of dueling to our hero, Judai Yuki. Edo Phoenix, Judai Yuki's opponent, who seeks revenge to the death of his father became a large threat. The recognition received from Edo Phoenix's friend and pro manager, Sai, to Judai's talent became a cause for them duel. While Judai Yuki , at that time, rejected the possibility of danger in dueling since he was born in fun dueling. With Judai's defeat to Edo, the animation derails to something extraordinary. I began to wonder the big leap of the deck cards origin. The establishment of space heroes (deck card) left a large hole to the series.

The questions of unsourced development began to skin me more, also for their connection to the main protagonist. I soon took noticed that despite of his achievements in the academy suffers a fair loss to a solid combo. This became unrewarding as he managed to defeat Edo. He is gifted with numbers of lucky draw, I reckoned.

The series on quarter half of the second arc became more complicated as the new antagonist appeared. Sai became the represent for the Light and Judai on behalf of the Darkness.

This metaphor blurs to find it's hidden meaning. I was thinking " How could be the dark the one's protecting while the light wants to decimate? ". Applying it to daily basis is hard to clear.

Dumping that thinking, the series turned to be evident of being dark, twisted and seriously wounding the "fun" in dueling not only for Judai but also the benifits of the supporting characters. This affliction appealed my heart to bring the series to a lighter source. I was disheartened about the outcome and became hooked to the series. Watching the second part of Yugi Oh Genex is where I am watching it for the first time. ( Whatever the reasons I had to stop watching the series during my highschool is a good choice. ) Simply, I was just beginning to the series.

The trials and defeat of the characters ached with demise as the episodes became numbered. With the 40 episodes remaining , I'm eagearly anticipating for the closure. As it steadily paced to Sai's defeat to Judai, other minor issues remained unsolved.

Third Arc : ( Victims of the Fall )

Leaving you hanging became reasonable as it added new villains and new companions. The bigger picture seemingly lessens now. The arc revolves around Yuki Judai dependent to his new kouhai which bribes a new perspective to this shounen course. Of course, your second star characters that ascended along from the first ride weight honor roles. The chemistry between them has a nice crisp to it , specially how they will handle the young colleague.

The changes of the third part from the leftovers from the second felt the wide gap. So many issues ran through my mind while patiently waiting to embarked the final journey. The childish air was enamored by these new ambitions. Major point to take was of Judai's past. He who have been blessed by luck and love from the spirit cards was abruptly taken his youth. This situation became dire when they were on an island and the students of the academy were getting outnumbered.

The reflected imagery of Judai Yuki to Johan Andersen landed also with delay. Yet watching two version of Judai Yuki is still entertaining ,with Johan Andersen reflecting the toddler Judai. Johan's character ,also the death of his comrade one after the other, factored to corner Judai Yuki. Judai's choices resulted wrong that lead him to become vulnerable and damaged. He manifested guilt , forcing himself to act an adult. Among those qualities, Johan and the remaining friends of Judai responded with belief and great appreaciation towards the protagonist.

---

In short time, clear as day to see how the show/series exhibit the resolve towards Judai Yuki and what the scene should call for. Yugi Oh Genex successfully on it's attempt to stir the emotions of its' viewers. Also opening certain genres one at a time.

OST's and background music is well thought , more often rejuvinating. The development communicates slow but it was worthwhile. Theme and mood using the deck cards makes the series interesting. The evolution of the protagonist as well as to the audience was rather pushed. The paced of hero to space to the spirit realm was a roller coaster ride. It has it's ups and down. The culmination opens a thought. The characters demanding a drama is a plus. The setting and techniques used on dueling is acceptable. Fanservices are nothing major but, sometimes create a dull moment.

The show is great ! recommendable to the people who drew their interest towards the character's development and journey. The second part gave me more compassion towards the first arc.

Yugi Oh Genex , through and through, turned itself into a good respectable series.

[ Blog ] Pokemon Duel : Recovering lost account.

--
So last February 9, 2017 an expected update was held by The Pokemon Company (TPC). Hours after the maintenance, I tried to open the app and a message pop up when I opened it. The message included was, I have to [reboot] or [update] my account on iTunes App Store. I was redirected to the store but no update button was showing.

(Without prior knowledge that TPC does not acknowledge account back ups on my GameCenter Account.)

With no update button showing for the app to update, I deleted the app and decided to install it again after. When I opened the app, it generated a new Support ID , which means it is a new account. Disappointed and in disbelief for the lost account, I hurried to check pokemon forums and their website for probably solution.
--
And on that date, February 9, I immediately email few pokemon email that I availed on the forums and on site suggestions. It took four days for Pokemon Support to reply, which I discovered a day after. I gave them the following information needed. It took then another 4 days for them to give a proper solution.
--
I suggest for others to put your Support ID as the Subject Title, for faster replies. The four days that made me wait for so long was probably , because they negate to action emails with no direct matter.

If you want to recover your account as well, Support ID is a must know. If you have not taken note of it, it's a no chance of getting your account back. Also, try to message either of these emails (shufflecs@pokemon.com),(duelcs@pokemon.com),(auto_reply@cs.pokemon.co.jp)(support@pokemon.com) . But the one whom Im replying with was support@pokemon.com

[[ Thoughts ]]

This season, Im mainly eyeing the new for ACCA, Kuzu no Honkai, and Fuuka. I have so much respect for the source material that I decided to exclude the outcome for the anime, Shouwa Rakugo and Ao no Exorcist. Hand Shakers were completely out the blue , when I watched the first episodes. It shown great visual angles yet poorly executed in terms of the story's way of service. Chaos;Child and Spiritpact vibes a positive execution so I'll probably hang out for a while.

All Out is getting emotional and I cant help but pity the party who cant even see them in that kind of spotlight. Sangatsu no Lion remains to cut deeper through it's monologues while Nanbaka's jokes started to affect my attachment as the story and plot progresses very well. I didnt expect Nanbaka too be this good.

Im always looking forward with Yowamushi Pedal's episode, while the remaining names hold no grave promises and I will wait if their craft binds well.

Suprisingly, this season isnt as bad as it seems since everyone looks forward with the comeback titles next season.

[ Blog ] Healthy ERO MANGAs

Last year, October 7, I decided to try (out of boredom and slow updates from subscribed mangas) reading and checking out the YAOI genres.

That time, the first one I tried was Junjou Romantica which is known for having good feedbacks. Succeeded with the author's (Shungiku Nakamura) Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi, (Ritsu Onodera's voice acting was convincingly erotic), then Love Stage by Eiki Eiki, (awful in plot) while hesitating to try Hybrid Child (by Nakamura again) for the feels as suggested by a friend. Awfully good. IFAM.

[ Review / Season ] Fall Anime 2016, Best of best

Yuri on Ice

Impaired with the biggest fandom, the realism and sensitivity about the theme (where Ice skaters are subsconsionally prejudged by their sexualism under the implement towards strict rules ) was handed with alot of freedom. The audience's acceptance towards this sensitive mood played a key role to it's success.

I have read Kubo-sensei's manga (Again!!) before this anime was released. The difference between the two production was , the anime series facial expression was (more) exaggerated to the Kubo-sensei that I know. The character reflection was open, easily to distinguish each expressions. The solid presence of Viktor's role greatly factored the main protagonist, Yuri. Same pressure applies to Yurio who was befriended by Otabek.  This event marks our reality where we overcome an invisible wall with someone who appeared to walk beside you but that doesnt shown successful road alone. The drama that the athletes protrayed on their downfall mirrored also the reality of someone under pressure. E.g. Yuri's paranoia on meeting Viktor's expectations and J.J's mental breakdown on the finals. Using the language of the dance sport , ice skating, as a medium is used to it's maximum. OST colored the series to be either solemn or lively, while the history behind their choreography was liven to none. The dependancy of choreos resemblace even influence the professional skaters to watch the series.

Yuri on Ice lies to mood and express the issues on it's medium. The struggle to open up and bombard oneself from the unrewarded immense of hardwork will always be the right choice to happiness. No shortcuts, No giving up. The drama it surrounds , chose it's characters to bloom on opportunities when they were hurting.

--

Drifters and Occultic 9 , relies on the author's imagination and one who could to imagine. Both has difficulty , and of adventure's value. Drifter suffers someone who isn't familiar with the Japanese history, and no plan shown to an educational pace for the foreign. Occultic 9, however, subjects to it's own language. It's fast and sometimes deciphering per words wouldn't even help. Watching the visual lessens this effect and in advantage of reading the scene's atmosphere. Evaluating the two together brings self-justice, though Drifters left the conclusion to the second season. Theme songs also entice the scenes an interesting and exciting calls.

Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari (Poco's Udon World)
and Fune wo Amu revivify this season. The lead characters coming from both series entails creating and finding your proper place. Except for this similarity , the two shown (to how) differentiate aspect of characters. The world Fune wo Amy creates a serious note while it progresses entirely on publishing a dictionary. The characters were portrayed an exact meal provided in the production staff's design. Poco's Udon World , however, expresses an entertaining value while it journeys the character to it's story. I greatly appreciated the maturity Fune wo Amu articulates, while I savour the merits of relaxation to Poco's Udon World. Both endings were acceptable, and the value of "family" both series convey is claimed dearly. OST's didnt left a lasting impression though I & I by Leola (Fune wo Amu) and Sweet Darwin of GOODWARP (Poco's Udon World) express myself to drama.

Days approached to color the main character alike to Yowamushi Pedal. The impression to mark was focused on the first years while upper years seemed to distance. The gap of skills remained unimpressive. Lack of Episodes? probably, but the pacing decided on it's own and was done poorly. The series felt long and dragged version of what it takes to be an ace. Does it felt shounen? Yes! Definitely, but the drama felt conditional. Such us the episode when Jin Kazama cried because he was frustated with unrewarded determination for the game, the after-episodes became subtle to call for a heavy drama. The contrast between a gifted skill from hard work didnt collided as expected.

As Days series placed characterization over sports. The pre-episodes before the game was long. Though the visuals for the game felt short , it is worth A-grade. There were episodes that conveyed softness in-terms of masculinity. The use of female characters created an entertaining value (in boy character's POV) and  succeeded on supporting it's playmates. This series is recommendable for viewers who values characters on light drama and sports. Development appeared to be conditional but it's worth to check out. Days lit realism of sports soccer teams.

Nanbaka 2017 pickes up where the first season left of. The trashy (fanservices) subsides in quality while the plot controls over. Every episodes wrings a cliffhanger paired with the emotion of the characters. The group of characters grow familiarity and spotlight is brought to the side-characters. Personal opinion , supporting characters heavied scars further than the protagonists. Watching the series require to lowdown the speaker volume. The series was alive and loud as it calls for action. Differentiating between villains and comrades is little confusing. The demanded drama left from the first season greatly affected the main protagonist. Characters managed to left a proper impression.

Nanbaka evidently dear it's genre. The call for the comedy along with action for the running minutes balanced it's growing darkened theme. This anime can stood alone, yet a confirmation for the third season is the right choice for it's completion. Nanbaka is a great anime, it improved alot and could possess more.
